ECS N8800GTS-320MX DX10 Graphics card USD299 only

Poeple like me who loves new tech will definitely consider a DX10 card instead of a DX9 at this moment of time. The first card by NVIDIA was the 8800GTX-768M, the price is USD 599 which is kind of too expensive for the average joe.

Today, I read about this new card, which has its RAM slices down to 320MB. The review shows that the performance is 10-20% behind the 8800GTX-768M. That is in 3D. The card comes with component video out that can support very high res like 1920x1080 or more. Looks like I will be able to tap on its purevideo HD to playback h.264 movies on my LCD TV real soon.

Samsung i600 Live photos + Review at OCWORKBENCH

OCWorkbench scores the first review from Singapore on the Samsung i600 Smartphone. Below is an excerpt of the review.

Samsung unveils its 2nd Smartphone, the Ultra Messaging i600. In contrast to the i320N we reviewed last year, the i600 has more to offer.
The i600 is equipped with the latest mobile technology integrated into one piece of hardware. The phone supports HSDPA, WCDMA, WIFI, Bluetooth and a QWERTY keyboard to maximise productivity. On top of that, it supports Podcasting and comes with a RSS Feeder. Now, there is no reason why you can't be contacted as you can go online on M1 broadband or using Wireless@SG hotspots.

MediaCorp to introduce 2 more HD channels in March

Today, I visited VIVOCITY. I was there to do my usual rounds to check out pricing and to get some other stuff. I chanced upon a HD broadcast by MediaCorp. I head over and spoke to the staff about the HD1 channel.

The person told me that it is rumoured that MediaCorp is scheduled to launch HD broadcast commerically. He also mentioned that there will be 2 more HD channels. When asked about the contents of the commerical channels, he is not sure and he said it will most likely be upscaled stuff from Ch 5 and Ch 8.

Well, I am not sure how true is it. Anyway, I also saw the HD STB selling for $599 which I find it steep for watching a single HD and 4 other SD channels - CNA, Digital 5, Digital 8 and TV Mobile.

If you hear anything about the lanuch dates and what is to be expected from MediaCorp, Singnet, do drop me a comment.
