Starhub scores exclusive broadcast rights for La Liga for the upcoming three seasons till 2012.

SINGAPORE: Singaporean cable platform StarHub has secured the exclusive broadcast rights for La Liga for the upcoming three seasons till 2012.

The Spanish football matches begin airing on StarHub this weekend, with up to four live matches weekly on Football Channel, SuperSports and SuperSports Plus. In addition, from September 12, all live matches will also be available in high-def on Sports HD. There will also be magazine programs such as La Liga, reviewing the week's matches, and La Liga Report, previewing upcoming fixtures, including player profiles, fans, press conferences and the match of the week.

Ong Bee Lian, StarHub’s VP of home solutions, said: “La Liga is one of the most competitive professional football leagues in the world, and sustains a keen level of interest among viewers in Singapore, especially after the recent high profile signings by the Spanish clubs. We are elated to bring La Liga exclusively to viewers here for another three seasons.”
StarHub is also adding La Liga On Demand to its offerings.
